COVID-19 UPDATE | HEALTH & SAFETY
As of August 20, 2021
It’s been well over a year since the Coaster Theatre closed due to COVID-19, and we have remained closed as we navigate this global pandemic. We look forward to welcoming everyone back to the theatre this fall in a safe and responsible manner. To ensure the safety of our community, staff, volunteers, we are requiring everyone to adhere to our safety guidelines. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 pandemic in our county and state and make adjustments as new information becomes available.
We are currently in rehearsals for Oscar Wilde’s The Picture of Dorian Gray by Gloria Gonzales opening this fall on October 1. The Picture of Dorian Gray and all future shows at the Coaster Theatre will adhere to our COVID-19 Safety Guidelines and Mitigation Plan for staff, volunteers and patrons.
To ensure everyone’s safety the following policies are in place for anyone entering the theatre:
PROOF OF VACCINATION. Patrons must show proof that they are fully vaccinated at the time of their entry into the Coaster Theatre through December 2021. This end date is subject to change and will be reviewed in October 2021. Face coverings will also be required, at all times, for patrons inside the theater regardless of vaccination status. See “Face Coverings” under General COVID-19 Policies & Practices, Section I of our safety guidelines for a list of acceptable face coverings.
Patrons may display proof of vaccination with a physical vaccination card, a legible copy of their vaccination card or a legible digital copy of their vaccination card in addition to a matching photo ID.
EXEMPTIONS. The Coaster Theatre will offer exemptions for those unable to be vaccinated, such as children under 12, people with certain medical conditions preventing vaccination, or those with closely held religious beliefs that prevent vaccination. These patrons must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within 72 hours of the performance start time in addition to a matching photo ID.
FACE COVERINGS. Any patron not wearing a face covering, regardless of a medical exemption or age, will not be admitted to enter the Coaster Theatre. Anyone who does not wear a face covering inside (at all times) will be asked to leave the theatre. There will be no exceptions made to the face covering policy.
BUY WITH CONFINDENCE. We are committed to safely resuming production and welcoming the public back to the theatre but we also know that things can change quickly these days. If we must cancel performances or if you are unwell or unable to attend, we will work with you to exchange or refund your tickets. Please contact our box office (503-436-1242) so we can find an option that works best for you.
We encourage everyone to read our COVID-19 Safety Guideline & Mitigation Plan before attending a show at the Coaster Theatre for all new policies. Please note: all COVID-19 guidelines are subject to change or revision at the theatre’s discretion and without prior notice. We recommend checking this page closer to your scheduled show at the theatre for updated information.
Our goal is to welcome everyone back to the theatre safely. We thank you for following our COVID-19 safety guidelines and keeping our community safe.
