HEALTH & SAFETY AT THE COASTER THEATRE
As of April 18, 2022
The Coaster Theatre Playhouse is thrilled to welcome the public back into the theatre for our 50th Anniversary season. As we move forward into our 2022 season, we are committed to providing and maintaining a safe and healthy environment for our audience members, volunteers, staff and anyone else who visits the theatre.
At this time, everyone must show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test to enter the theatre the day of the performance. Face masks are optional but encouraged when attending a show at the Coaster Theatre. This policy will be reviewed frequently and we will keep everyone informed of changes to our policies via this page, Facebook and our email newsletter. We recommend checking this page or contacting our box office closer to your scheduled performance dates for the latest information.
Since opening for our 50th anniversary season, we have removed socially distanced seating and increased our audience capacity to 198 seats and resumed limited concessions with individual, pre-packaged items.
To ensure everyone’s safety the following policies are in place for anyone entering the theatre for a performance or event:
PROOF OF VACCINATION. Patrons must show proof that they are fully vaccinated at the time of their entry into the Coaster Theatre. This end date is subject to change and will be reviewed at the end of May 2022.
The Coaster Theatre will accept ANY ONE of the following methods for proof of vaccination along with a photo ID*:
- Original vaccination card
- Digital photo of vaccination card
- Other official documentation clearly displaying your name and the date(s) of vaccine dose(s), such as a visit summary from the organization administering the vaccine.
* Photo IDs are not required for minors accompanied by a parent, guardian, or student group leader.
EXEMPTIONS. The Coaster Theatre will offer exemptions for those unable to be vaccinated, such as children under 5 years, people with certain medical conditions preventing vaccination, or those with closely held religious beliefs that prevent vaccination. These patrons must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within 72 hours of the performance start time in addition to a matching photo ID.
FACE COVERINGS. Face coverings are optional but encouraged when attending a show at the Coaster Theatre.
CONCESSIONS. We will be offering concessions before the show and at intermission. Food and beverage is NOT ALLOWED in the seating area.
BUY WITH CONFINDENCE. We are committed to safely producing shows and welcoming the public back to the theatre but we also know that things can change quickly these days. If we need to cancel a performance or if you are unwell or unable to attend, we will work with you to exchange or refund your tickets. Please contact our box office (503-436-1242) so we can find an option that works best for you.
We encourage everyone to read our COVID-19 Safety Guideline & Mitigation Plan before attending a show at the Coaster Theatre for all new policies. Please note: all COVID-19 guidelines are subject to change or revision at the theatre’s discretion and without prior notice. We recommend checking this page or contacting our box office (503-436-1242) closer to your scheduled show at the theatre for updated information.
Thank you for keeping our community safe and for following our COVID-19 safety guidelines.

WhWhatever,… My partner still revels in telling friends that for his birthday I took him to a play about old people.
WeWe thank you for all your contributions; we wish you all the best; we are grateful to Be able to help.
Thank you for your support! You are correct that our February 2020 show was called “A Bench in the Sun”!
We are coming to the show this weekend with our 2 granddaughters. ( ages 5 and 9 ) They have both been vaccinated but don’t have picture ID. Do they still need to have a negative covid test.??
Children are not required to provide ID with an accompanying adult if they are 16 years or younger. If they are fully vaccinated they will not need a negative COVID test.
