Planes and Trains and Boats
DATES: July 27-31, 2026
TIME: 11 am-3:30 pm daily
LOCATION: Coaster Theatre Playhouse
REGISTRATION FEE: $75. You can pay the fee online or by check at theatre box office.
FIELD TRIP: Tuesday, July 28. We will ride the trolly and visit the Locomotive Restoration in Astoria. All campers need to arrive between 10:30-10:45 am on that day.
FINAL PERFORMANCE: Friday, July 31 at 3 pm (no tickets required)

We’re very excited to have you participate in Coaster Theatre’s Summer Kidz Camp! Our theme is Locomotion: Planes and Trains and Boats. Included in this year’s camp is a field trip on Tuesday, July 28, to ride the trolly and visit the Locomotive Restoration in Astoria.
Then each actor will develop a story about their experience. In addition, we will explore songs and dance that tie into the theme.
Each day, plan to bring a bottle of water, and a sack lunch, with an additional small snack. Avoid foods that need to be refrigerated or microwaved. On occasion, the theatre will provide treats such as cookies, cake, pizza, soda, and ice cream. Let us know if you have any concerns about these foods and/or any food allergies. Weather permitting, we will walk to the park for lunch.
Campers should wear layers and avoid clothing that is restrictive in movement i.e.: tight-fitting jeans, skirts and dresses, extremely short pants. Wear shoes that are closed-toed and remain on your feet. No sandals, flip-flops, clogs, Crocs, etc. Inappropriate footwear may prevent participation in certain activities. Shoes will be removed for Yoga.
Cell phones are to be turned off during camp but may be used during lunch. Any cell phone used during instruction time will be confiscated and returned at the end of the day. Parents, please use the theatre’s box office phone to communicate with your student while at camp. The messages are checked regularly at 503-436-1242.
Campers may use some costume pieces from their wardrobes. Please do not purchase any costume items, regardless of your camper’s insistence.
DAILY SCHEDULE:
10:45-11 am: Drop off (please no earlier, except for the field trip on Tuesday, July 28)
11-11:45 am: Warm-up Yoga
11:45 am-12:30 pm: Music/Movement/Acting
12:30-1:30 pm: Lunch
1:30-2:15 pm: Art Activities
2:15-3:15: Music/Movement/Acting
3:15 – 3:30: Pick-up
